IHTC was established in 1999 as an independent college and is registered in compliance with Swiss statuary law. Its aim is to provide quality education to international students by combining the excellent traditions of the American/Swiss educational science/art.

IHTC's teaching staff are actively involved in the international business community and thus offer academic courses of high academic standing firmly rooted in practical experience. Class sizes are small and interactive between students and lecturers. Students are encouraged to question and discuss issues which leads to a dynamic learning experience.

All programs offered by the college require an internship. This provides students with the opportunity of gaining practical experience in the hotel and tourism industry.
